Of course the best remedy for yeast infection, is avoidance. Avoidance of alcohol, especially beer, caffeine, processed foods, sugar, etc. All these things stimulate yeast growth in our bodies. A yeast infection isn't only in the vagina, it can also be in the mouth or nose and men can get yeast infections also. 75% of all women will have at least one yeast infection in their lifetime and 50% of those will have more than one. So for many of us we know when we have a yeast infection. But if this is your first time with these symptoms you should go get checked out by your gynecologist.

Here are some homemade remedies for yeast infection.

- Add 1 cup of apple cider vinegar to warm bath water and soak for about 20 minutes.

- Put a few drops of tea tree oil on a tampon and insert in the vagina for about twenty minutes twice a day. You can also put some on a tampon and leave the tampon in overnight.

- Get plain, sugar-free yogurt with active cultures. Insert some into the vagina a couple times a day and spread some around the outside for immediate relief. Use a tampon to insert or whatever method is more comfortable for you.

- Spread honey on the affected part and let it sit for about 20 minutes. Afterwards you'll need to take a warm bath to get the honey off. If you don't get it all off, the sugar in the honey will start feeding the yeast.
